June's Spirit Doll

Hi All -

I finished this month's Spirit Doll pin about a week ago. I was having trouble with Google, so it didn't get upload. Here's the link to my BLOG so you can see her and read about her. I really enjoy the BJP and love seeing what everyone is doing.

Have a great holiday weekend.

The slacker is back on track!

That almost sounded like something Dr Suess would write :-)  After falling into some difficulties that took me away from this project for awhile, I'm caught back up.  I've got a post featuring both my April and May BJP buttons on Beading Arts, and my June and July buttons are almost done too!

March Completed

To reiterate, I'm making small Goddess Doll pins each month. Here's March's "Green Springtime." She's green for both St. Patrick's Day and the beginning of Spring. I used glass flowers and leaves to emphasize Spingtime growth. I used a coconut tree button for her face, again for growth and Florida, where I live. I'm going to start blogging again. My blog, SusansFoodForThought, is all about food (what a surprise!), travel (and food), healthy eating for cancer survivors, and beading. I will have a link to my blog from this one starting with my April pin. I haven't blogged in almost a year and am ready to begin again, especially since we're just about to leave for a trip to Hawaii.

Feb is finished...whew!

I am so happy to be able to squeak in under the wire :-)  You can see a larger image and the story behind this one on Beading Arts.

January's The Panama Goddess

So, I finally finished my first BJP for 2011. I decided to do goddess dolls pins as my shape. We've been away for a few weeks, visiting in Panama, and I worked on her only a little bit while we were gone. Here's the link to my web site where you can see January's The Panama Goddess. Well, something's wrong with my site, so here she is:

My sister, Karen L. Cohen, also a BJP member, came for a visit. She had previously given me some fabric she had dyed, so I used that fabric as the basis for my doll. The colors are among my favorites used together, green, purple, and turquoise. I used a lot of flower beads, as it is so lush in Panama and everything grows beautifully. Hopefully, by the time my February goddess is completed, my site will be fine.
